In my early years working in ceramic, I focused on experimenting glazes and forms. During its course, I began to realize that I need to breakthrough this limitation. An artwork needs a touch of life and spirit, it needs to integrate my feelings, mind and thoughts or even my interpretation of a social or human phenomena. This change revived my works; they are not only part of me, but they speak and communicate with my audience.
In recent years, I further challenge myself into multi-media and installations. Instead of just creating aesthetic forms, I have learned to incorporate identity, culture and sensibility into my work. I was bursting with the desire to express a cultural phenomenon, an abstract vision through a visible form. I had two installations since 2004 they proofed to be the most fulfilling way of expressing myself in clay. The communication created between the audience, me and my work is immensely satisfying. An installation project might take longer time to prepare, to do the researches or to solve the technical problems; but all that is well worth the effort. The intense working process; the anticipation and the expectation are always fun and challenging and the final result always gives unexpected surprises. Installation art is certainly the type of work that I am going to pursue in future.

Ik barstte met de wens om een cultureel fenomeen, een abstracte visie door een zichtbare vorm uit te drukken. Ik had twee installaties sinds 2004 zij om de meest vervullende manier ondoordringbaar maakten te zijn om in klei uit te drukken. De mededeling die tussen het publiek, me en mijn werk wordt gecreeerd is immensely tevredenstellend. Een installatieproject zou langere tijd kunnen vergen voorbereidingen te treffen, de onderzoek te doen of de technische problemen op te lossen; maar alles wat de inspanning de moeite waard is. Het intense het werk proces; het anticiperen en de verwachting zijn altijd pret en de uitdaging en het definitieve resultaat geven altijd onverwachte verrassingen. De kunst van de installatie is zeker het type van het werk dat ik voortaan ga achtervolgen.

Au fil du temps, je me suis rendue compte qu’il me fallait me libérer de ces contraintes et des limitations qu’elles imposaient. En effet, une œuvre d’art doit évoquer la vie et la spiritualité, et par conséquent, mes sentiments et mes pensées, et même ma propre interprétation de phénomènes sociaux ou humains devaient faire partie intégrante de mon art. Ce changement a donné un nouveau souffle à mon œuvre ; mes pièces ne font plus seulement partie de moi, elles parlent et communiquent avec mon public. Ces dernières années, j’ai voulu aller plus loin en me lançant dans le multimédia et les installations. Au lieu de simplement créer des formes esthétiques, j’ai appris à intégrer identité, culture et sensibilité dans mon travail. Je mourais d’envie d’exprimer un phénomène culturel, une vision abstraite à travers une forme visible. Depuis 2004, j’ai conçu deux installations, et cela s’est avéré être pour moi le moyen d’expression par l’argile le plus comblant. Le lien de communication qui s’est construit entre mon public, moi et mon travail est immensément satisfaisant. Certes, le temps de préparation et de recherche ainsi que le temps nécessaire pour résoudre les problèmes techniques sont plus contraignants pour un projet d’installation, mais cela en vaut vraiment la peine. Le processus de travail, qui se déroule dans une atmosphère chargée d’intensité, de défi, d’anticipation et d’espoir, est toujours effectué dans la bonne humeur, et le résultat final est toujours marqué de surprises inattendues.
