'Inspiration’ is a word often used to seek the source of an idea. My sources lie in my experience of the created natural world, in rocks and stones, canyons and chasms and in the creations of mankind. The process of making and firing is a reflection of the processes of nature, sometimes life giving, sometimes destructive. ‘As if through a fire tested’, I wish to explore the ability of human creation to withstand and respect the rigours of natural forces. At times refined and delicate, at times robust and bold, my work is grounded in the morphology of landscape and the archeology of humankind’s endeavor to mould its environment.
